LjusTeknik AB is a Swedish based company that was founded in 1994 by Marco Roukala, but company has older roots. In the 1970s, Marco began selling lighting for homes. And in the 1990s, he formed the company LjusTeknik AB. The business initially focused on lighting and interior products for stores. As the new light source, halogen with reflector, was becoming popular, stores and museums liked and adopted the more intense light. One of the company's early products, the Artic65, is still a common museum spotlight in Nordic countries.
Over the years, LjusTeknik AB has also had other side businesses. Marco introduced the BUFF brand to Sweden, which became a hit among motorcyclists and outdoor enthusiasts. However, since 2014, the company has focused solely on lighting for museums and exhibitions.
On September 1, 2017, LjusTeknik AB changed ownership. After 50 years of working life, Marco felt it was time for retirement, and Mattias Fransson, who had been active in the company for a few years, took over ownership and management. Marco remains as a consultant, providing the company with his long experience in the business. Together we have over 75 years of experience of lighting products and lighting design.
Mattias have a long background in the entertainment and theatre industry. Started with hard labor work by rolling cases as a stagehand and has then been working with small theatre tours to big scale concerts. Both as a technician and as lighting designer. Knowing the technology and having the user experience is key elements of helping other users to find their best tools.
LjusTeknik AB is also part of research projects and holding lectures about lighting. It is important to be a part of the future and gathering others to be a part of the movement forward.
